We are happy to announce the launch of Spark Media’s Vimeo On Demand page. Award-winning documentaries Red Lines (Best Documentary, Woodstock Film Festival), Partners of the Heart (Erik Barnouw Award for Best History Documentary), The Pact (Best Documentary, Boston International Film Festival) and A Voice of Her Own (UNESCO Gold Medal) are now available to rent or buy for the first time On Demand!

Red Lines follows the journey of two young, unlikely Syrian activists who hatch a radical plan for bringing democracy to their country, besieged by the brutal Bashar al-Assad regime. Under threat of death and armed only with the internet, Mouaz Moustafa and Razan Shalab-al-Sham organize when no one else will. Red Lines provides cinematic boots on the ground, offering a rare window into the Syrian conflict, taking us from the trenches to geopolitical jockeying and becoming, along the way, a searing exposé of an ongoing inhumane crisis. Red Lines was named Best Feature Documentary at Woodstock Film Festival, was a Top 20 Audience Favorite at Hot Docs, and received an Accolade Award and the Gold TIVA-DC Peer Award for Best Documentary Feature.

Partners of the Heart tells the story of Vivien Thomas, a black carpenter’s apprentice with a genius for surgery, and Dr. Alfred Blalock, a renowned white surgeon, who dared to defy medical gospel by forging a partnership that changed the course of medical history. Narrated by Morgan Freeman, Partners of the Heart was funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities, broadcast on PBS’ American Experience and inspired the Emmy-Award winning HBO movie “Like Something the Lord Made” with Alan Rickman and Mos Def.  In addition to the Erik Barnouw Award for Best History Documentary, Partners of the Heart also won the Gold Special Jury Award from Worldfest Houston, a CINE Golden Eagle, the Chris Award, and a Telly Award, as well as the 2010 Gold TIVA Peer Award for Best Classic Documentary.

The Pact is the provocative true-life story of three friends from a rough Newark, New Jersey neighborhood who made a childhood pact to find a way to go to college, and then medical school. The three doctors have devoted their lives to spreading the word to inspire other inner-city kids to stay off the streets and take the educational route to a better life. The Pact was broadcast nationwide on American Public Television, won Best Documentary at the Boston International Film Festival, a CINE Golden Eagle, a Telly Award, and was an official selection of Kids First Film Festival.

A Voice of Her Own is a multiple-award-winning documentary short looking at the profound changes underway in Bangladesh, Cambodia and the Philippines, where the transforming status of women has paved the way for their critical new roles in national economic development. Funded by the Asian Development Bank, A Voice of Her Own was screened around the globe at Festivals and over the airwaves, and was the winner of the UNESCO Gold Medal, a CINE Golden Eagle, a Gold World Medal from the New York Festivals, a Silver Screen Award from the US International Film Festival, a Chris Award, a Telly Award, and a Bronze Plaque from the Columbus International Film and Video Festival.

With never-before-seen extra features and exclusive bonus content, all four films are now available to rent or buy via Vimeo On Demand. We at Spark Media are proud to continue to bring you inspiring and eye-opening films that have the power to bring people together, spark conversations and ignite change.
