Our new film, Lady of the Revolution is the story of Henrietta Boggs, a born-and-bred southern belle, whose unconventional desire for social change at home led her into a whirlwind of revolutionary change abroad. A story largely unknown, Boggs’s marriage to Jose ‘Don Pepe’ Figueres led to a decade-long journey through activism, exile, and political upheaval. As an eyewitness to the tumultuous events that forever transformed Costa Rica, her unique perspective offers a rare look at an extraordinary time in history and reveals insights into the remarkable ways a small Central American nation can inspire other countries and their citizens to fulfill their own destinies and dreams.

With 97 years of vibrant living to draw on, Henrietta has enough advice and knowledge to last a lifetime. Since we could not include all of her nuggets of wisdom in the film, we have created a weekly short video series – Henrietta’s Pearls of Wisdom – giving us all tips to live a happy, more fulfilled life – straight from Henrietta herself! Enjoy the first two Pearls below and check back every Wednesday for more!
